Aberlleiniog Trails
26 & 27 April, 2025
11am – 5 pm
at
Llangoed Village Hall

Presenting a series of guided walks, creative projects and performances inspired by Aberlleiniog castle, our community woodlands and Lleiniog beach.

Open Call for artists, makers, poets, historians, scientists and nature lovers!

An invitation to present guided walks, creative activities, artworks and performances inspired by Aberlleiniog castle, our community woodlands and Lleiniog beach. This is an open opportunity to respond and connect to the natural habitat, our shared history and to the unique features of our common spaces.

Grateful thanks to Llangoed Village Hall who has let us use the hall and garden free of charge for the weekend.

Thanks also to the Seiriol Allanice Fund who supported our participation in the Anglesey Open Studios and Galleries Week event
as well as support for our signage.

More Information

This is an open call for an alternative event to the Aberlleiniog Sculpture Trail of previous years.  While it looks very promising for the 2026 edition, the funding did not come together in time for this year.

Not wanting to miss out on the momentum and enthusiasm of our creative community, we are hosting "Aberlleiniog Trails" at Llangoed Village Hall and gardens. See you there!

• General Info •

Aberlleiniog Trails is based at Llangoed Village Hall, with activities in the main hall, the back room, on the stage and throughout the gardens.

We are looking for creative ways to engage with our local surroundings.

  • Guided Walks can be of most any theme – it could inspired by the geology of the area, a walk about coppicing, a nomadic performance, a poetry trail, a trail run, etc. Guided walks will meet at the Village Hall at agreed times and can branch out into the village or woodlands.

  • Performances and Readings can be proposed for the stage or gardens at Llangoed Village Hall

  • Installations, Sculptures and Artwork can be presented within the grounds of Llangoed Village Hall

  • Creative Activities of all sorts can take place within and around Llangoed Village Hall. We welcome workshops, installations, artworks, interactive sessions, projects using the community flagpole, our willow dome or fruit trees.

Please think broadly and creatively about what you would like to present and do get in touch with us to discuss your ideas.

The event takes place during the final weekend of the Anglesey’s Open Studios 2025

• What about the Aberlleiniog Sculpture Trail? •

We have a hopeful future! With the Cwlwm Seiriol project coming to an end, the group of local creatives who were organising the artworks and performances in 2023 and 2024 events lost their project partners. Plas Bodfa Projects CIC, a local creative organisation agreed to take on this initiative, taking responsibility for fund raising, the land permissions, health and safety and insurance.

While we did not receive the funding required to make the Sculpture Trail a reality this year, we have developed strong relationships with funding bodies who share our vision for this project. We are very hopeful that we can realise a full-scale Aberlleioniog Sculpture Trail in 2026 and for several more years into the future.

Not wanting to miss out on the momentum and enthusiasm of our creative community we have decided to host an alternate version of the event based within Llangoed Village Hall, run on an almost zero budget.

Grateful thanks to Llangoed Village Hall who has let us use the hall and garden free of charge for the weekend. Thanks also to the Seiriol Allanice Fund who supported our participation fee for the Anglesey Open Studios and Galleries Week event as well as support for our signage.
