'Moonglass' by Rachel Rosen
Shattered glass shards from the greenhouse at Plas Bodfa were ‘exposed’ to the full moon on the night of March 8th, 2020 as it streamed through the windows of the house. Two pieces of glass were then fused to lock in the light. These slow exposures of fleeting moonlight can be placed on windowsills or brought out at night to catch and redistribute light.

Rachel Rosen aka Scrapyardqueen has been reworking materials for over 15 years and is known for her playful and often site specific sculptures, installations and set designs including in the labyrinth sensory theatre in Coed Gwydir. She also has a more philosophical and reflective dimension to her work that often involves light, shadow, glass and mirror and is concerned with enquiries into how we experience time and memory, exploring the visceral sensations these provoke in her.
